Everything can always be better. This game is fluid. It's always changing, it's always evolving. I could always hit the ball better, chip better, putt better, think better. You can get better tomorrow than you are today.

Day 3.5

Off of Caffeine for the 3rd day. No headaches. I'm still drinking a lot of water and my motivation is lower. I'm hoping that after a month or so of being off of caffeine that I'll have this increadible constant bounding energy, and that I'll be healthier.

What is going on?

I am just not sure that I want to be caffeine free. I broke down and had some coffee last week. The mental rush was incredible!!! I have not felt that exhilarated in a very long time. It was like I was on crack. Anyway, now I can't stop. I crave caffeine. I am trying to justify why I should quit again, but I see how much better I am when I am on it. It is harder to slow my mind down and focus, but the drive is there. So while it may be harder to focus the desire to focus seems to outweigh the ability to focus. I don't sleep as well. I'm having trouble coming to enough reasons why I should get off of caffeine. Also the availability of the caffeine is a real problem - it is everywhere. So viable alternatives (water) can be a problem. Perhaps the combination of exercise, water, and no caffeine all combine together to create an extremely high level of energy. That's what Dean Karnazes says.

I didn't last - failures of a caffeine quitter

Man...I didn't make it. Saturday rolled around and I procrastinated on a school project to the point that I needed caffeine to give me that mental boost that I could get no where else. What I forgot was how addicting that boost is. I admit that I was like a first time coke junkie. Wroom!!!! I was cranking out the material. I wrote about six pages in about two hours of work. The sleep thing is nice though. I get more restful sleep when I am off of caffeine and I feel more fully engaged when I am off of caffeine. When I'm on caffeine I feel like a revved up (productive) zombie. Honestly I feel like it is easier to engage into a focused activity when I am off of caffeine. However, my mind is not as quick. I am more thoughtful when I am off of caffeine, but I'm not sure I feel as fun. Should I stay or should I go now? Whooh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh.

Caffeine Journal

Day 1: Today (Friday 20,2007) was my first full day without caffeine. I have a mild headache today, which is a different kind of headache. It feels like my head is engorged with blood.

Yesterday, I had a monster lo-carb in the morning which has about 140mg of caffeine in one 16oz can! (http://www.energyfiend.com/death-by-caffeine/) Holy cow. I also had a mild headache that afternoon. I took roughly 1200mg of ibuprofen yesterday and drank a ton of water, which helped a lot. I think my headaches have been coming from consuming 420 mg of caffeine a day for the past couple of weeks. I feel mentally clearer today than yesterday.
Stay tuned for more caffeine free excitement!

Meaningful post

How to create a meaningful blog post(s) that people will click on? What do people want to read about? I'm thinking about chronicling my journey of being caffeine free. I was caffeine free for about a week and a half. Life was boring, but sleep was better and I felt better overall. Some other benefits of being caffeine free was that I spent time purposefully. I don't know if my mind was simply distracted.

Turkey Season

Today is Friday the 13th...ooooh spooky. Drew, Ira, Steve and I are going Turkey Hunting tonight, tommorrow morning and evening and perhaps Sunday morning. One of Steve's friend Johnny said that there are birds everywhere. I'm pretty excited.

Cool stuff from the web

Today I surfed the web for about an hour. Then I wrote some stuff in my blog. Crystal and I are trying to think of some tshirts. The best idea we have is the turtle logo with the slogan "take it slow". Right side. Quality Choice. The natural pain killer. RCY.
